Psychotherapy is a type of therapy where people talk with a trained professional to improve and maintain their mental health and overall well-being. It involves a collaborative relationship between the therapist and the client, working together to bring about positive changes in the client's thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and social interactions. People often seek psychotherapy when their thoughts, emotions, moods, or behaviors are negatively impacting their daily lives, relationships, and ability to enjoy life.
Clinical supervision is a supportive partnership between a certified supervisor and a registered psychotherapist (RP). In this relationship, they regularly meet to talk about the therapist’s work with clients, focusing on how the therapy is going and the relationship between the therapist and their clients. The goal is to help the therapist grow professionally, ensure they’re using their skills effectively and safely, and to make sure the clients are receiving the best possible care.
